Starting your day off right is essential.  A good nights rest, a well-balanced breakfast, and lets not forget that cup of fresh ground coffee to top it off.  We take care of our bodies because we do not want it to fall apart.

Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.

Here is a quick tip to help keep those hinges tight and your doors from sagging. Take off the hinge and use a golf tee to fill the stripped screw holes. Break the golf tee off flush and put the hinge back on.  The screws should stay snug.

It is getting to be the rush time for handymen and women.  Between school starting, kids sports, church events, and not to mention the days are getting shorter, it is hard to get your house ready for the seasons to come. We are leaving Summer and Fall is upon us.  Finding the time to do the basics around your home will minimize your fix-it list after the Winter season.
Gutter cleaning…….Cleaning out our gutters should be pretty close to the top of the list.

If the water can not drain where it is supposed to drain, it will drain where you do not want it to drain.

I’m looking for the top 15 basic household to-dos before the rains begin.

Some homeowners think of maintenance as a challenge, something to take on, overcome, and with luck, complete. Some see it as a learning experience and others see it as protecting their bottom line.
There are projects from small to big and from inside to out. Finding out what project you want to tackle first is the true question.
Do I have the right skills and knowledge?
Do I have the necessary tools?
Do I have the time?

Home maintenance will pay off!!!

Managing Mass Amounts of Stress

There are so many times in life we feel that “We have to do this or we have to do that.” It is time to take a step back and realize what is important.
As a contractor in today’s society, I hear too much about how much work is getting done in such a short amount of time. This makes me believe that Quantity rates higher than Quality!
Projects can be a huge stress. Trying to get them done before the weekend ends or you don’t know what exactly your suppose to do. Doing the job right the first time may take you another weekend to finish, but the quality of your workmanship will go further!!!

Starting new projects are easy if you plan ahead.  Bigger household projects, like kitchen remodel, demand more preparedness than a quick color change to the outside of the house.  Taking your time to research what you want, what you can afford, what is available and what is honestly feasible for your household.

Planning ahead will save you money, time during construction and will allow you to help visualise your ending results.

What kind of projects do you have coming up?
